Our favorite athletic gear and shoe companies have a long history of using superstar athletes to promote their brands. Think of Chuck Taylor, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods and Lebron James. Recently, Nike has expanded their horizons to include the comedic stylings of Kevin Hart, taking advantage of Hart’s large fan base from his comedy specials, movies and spoof T.V. show, Real Husbands of Hollywood.
Hart prides himself in living a healthy lifestyle and advocates that others also focus on finding their inner athlete. His recent collaboration with Nike includes Nike’s Run with Hart program and his own sneaker line, marking the first time Nike has given a comedian a line of shoes. Nike Running Club (NRC) sponsors the Run with Hart program. Those who want to pound the pavement with Hart meet up with him during his visits to NRC’s throughout the world. Nike also sponsors Move With Hart, an inspirational podcast focused on athletic and health-related issues.
Nike released Hart’s first sneaker, the Free Train Instinct “Hustle Hart”, in mid-June. It is available in red and black. The “Hustle Hart” branding and logo appears on the tongue and Hart’s last name appears on the insoles, but the most noticeable features of the shoe are the 23 motivational quotes written on the upper part of the shoe. The quotes include sayings like, “Find Your Inner Athlete, What Did You Do This Morning?, Health is Wealth, and Keep Pushing to Be the Best Version of Yourself.”
